This video from All Dog, Are Shock Collars Hurting Your Dog? should be required viewing for everyone who cares about dogs, including every pet care professional. I will warn you that it does contain graphic videos of dogs being shocked and photos of dogs that display the injuries they have received from shock collars. You probably won’t want your children to see this video because if you’re using a shock collar on the family dog, your children will rightfully lose their respect for you and may justifiably start fearing for their safety.

This video from All Dog addresses both remote shock collars and underground fence systems, explaining why they should not be used and alternatives to their use. It also discusses the false advertising used by companies selling these products and the recent $1.9 million settlement in a class action lawsuit against PetSafe. Hopefully, we will see many more such lawsuits against other manufacturers and the retailers selling their harmful products.
